Hi. I'm writing to let you all know how wonderful I think your kids' programs are. I have been attending since 2001, starting with my first child at Mother Goose on the Loose and then Terrific Twos; and repeating the programs for my second child. I find your programs to be refreshingly age-appropriate, a fact that was made even more apparent to me this summer, when my family and I were living in New Hampshire. We visited three different libraries regularly, one in Vermont and two in New Hampshire. None of the programs could compare to yours. They were all well-intentioned, of course, but the other librarians simply did not understand how a program needs to be age-appropriate. I am so glad that you are training other librarians in your successful methods. Thank you, and keep up the good work.

“Other programs have dance
and music, but this is the only one where they are well
integrated with the music."
Julie W., parent of Ziv
"It’s also an opportunity for
children to interact and for parents to network or find
one another. "
Tanya, mother of John, 6 months
"Parents aren’t skilled enough usually
to know what to do. They learn it from the program by
repetition, repeating many of the same things every week.
I’m singing the nursery rhymes and doing the movements..."
Fiona M.
"I’m glad that there’s something
like this that we can come to and that we can see other
kids of all different ages and get the opportunity
to play with different kinds of toys and experiment to see what he likes."
Karen, mother of Helen, age 3
“One of the things I found extremely important
was, not only did it stimulate the children while you
were there but as a new mother with a new child, it
taught me how to play.”
Jess, mother of Tyler age 4 (a Mother Goose on the
Loose graduate)
“Having the repertoire of songs... is a
fantastic tool for long car trips. It has really saved
us.”
Kevin, father of Fran
What works really well is the combination of the structured nursery rhymes, the predictable routine, the structure so you know your child is learning, the social time, and the ease of that space. The space is really important because you can breastfeed, you can have your child playing, you can talk with other mothers and fathers....It’s really important as a kind of social contact for mothers.

“Jeffrey verbalizes like a four year old, according to his pediatrician, and can read five words at the age of two. I think that MGOL has contributed a great deal to those abilities. He doesn’t go to preschool so I believe that it is coming from Mother Goose”.
Kirsten, mother of Jeffrey, 2 years
"The bottom line social thing is that Mother Goose attracts families to the library and then people begin to take better advantages of the facilities and advantages of the libraries. "
Deb, mother of Lisa, 10 months old
