The Godfrey Award

In 2002, the Enoch Pratt Free Library won the prestigious fourth annual Godfrey Award for Excellence in Public Library Services for Families and Children for Mother Goose on the Loose.

The award recognized “Mother Goose on the Loose” as a strong contributor to a comprehensive set of library goals relating to children's services because of it's developmentally appropriate activities, as well as the incorporation of nursery rhymes with music, games and puppets to encourage literacy in young children. By offering Mother Goose on the Loose programs, the Enoch Pratt Free Library met its goals in supporting early literacy and increasing public library usage by families with young children.
